The age of R-L20

My friend Marco Grassi (E2467) asks me: “I have read on Eupedia that the first L20+ should be born 1800 YBP, how is it possible?”

My response (à la Klyosov):
«I haven’t studied by a scientific point of view this thing, but you know that I esteem
the Y-s more ancient than others think. Anyway there are many new SNPs and we should exam them all. Unfortunately from when Dna-forums doesn’t fit, I have lost a little the updating, but you have done all the intermediate SNPs, isn’t it?”

Amongst the R-L20 on the R-U152 FTDNA Project, there is the Sicilian Cucina, who is so different from all the others, that he couldn’t derive from some Northern monk, but probably from the Italic peoples of Sicily (Elymians, Sicans and Sicilians) like LoPiccolo and infinite others. He has also DYS632=10.
By using the Klyosov method (he probably will be defeated by me about hg. R1b1*, but probably he will win about the origin of European men), we have:

Grassi:   12,12,13,11,11,12,11,9,15,16,8,10,8,12,10,12,12,8,12,11,11,12
Cucina:  12,12,12,11,11,12,11,9,15,16,8,10,8,13,10,12,12,8,12,11,11,12

2: .006=333x25=8325YBP

at least
1:.006=166x25=4150

Very likely not 1800YBP.

Tibor had placed the L20 age at 3100 YBP. Either way, it is definitely older than 1800 YBP.

Take present that the mutation rate of DYS632 is 0,000069. The mutation from 9 to 10 is also of the Barton clan, probably that of the owner of this forum.
