Are individual Haplo-types able to be dated?

They date to that individual's date of birth. If a man was born in 1960, for example, that is the date of his haplotype. I suppose you could back up and date his haplotype to the date of conception, but that would normally move things back only about nine months. Much easier to go with his date of birth.

I have an exact 37-marker match with a second cousin once removed (he has only tested to 37 markers). Our most recent common ancestor is my great-great grandfather (his great grandfather). Because of that match one can infer that we received our haplotypes unchanged since the time of my great-great grandfather, who was born in 1835.

That would be another way to date a haplotype, I guess.

I happen (through FTDNA) to stumble upon a 7th grade cousin: Ton van Vliet. The common ancestor is Gerrit Jansz (Gerrit son of Jan) van Vliet born 31th August 1727 near Utrecht, Netherlands.
In the 37 STR markers we differ in 2: DYS449 (30, mine 29) and CDYa (37, mine 36). So 2 mutations in 220 year or 7 generations (another example of intra familial speeding up of mutations: it should be 420 years).
In the same periode the van Vliet Y chromosome acquired around 5 new SNPs.
So  my haplotype is roughly 110 years old?
