We have a little miniature Dachshund named Daisy, but she is just three years old.
I like cats okay, but we don't have one because I like watching the birds and squirrels in our yard. Cats kill everything for miles around. If I had one, I wouldn't see any squirrels and very few birds.
I have had a dog in the past, but currently just have two cats, both of whom were strays we took in. One is now too old to hunt, and just looks wistfully at the squirrels and birds. The other occasionally gets a bird, rat, mouse, mole or gopher, and sometimes unfortunately deposits them still alive inside the house. So far the squirrels and blue jays have eluded her. Between them they managed to get nearly all of our apples off our tree this year, despite the presence of the cats.
But I think we are in danger of hijacking this thread, for which I apologize.
