These are the G2a5 on the Haplogroup G Project c/o FTDNA. Others of this haplogroup I have found on SMGF. They are above all from Iberian origin: Vargas (Brazil), Gonzalez (Mexico), Jimenez Romero (Panama), Romero Murillo (Mexico), Garcia (Spain), but there is also a German: Erpel (Germany).
Also the Italian Filippelli is on SMGF, but tested incompletely. He is from Mendicino (Cosenza), but his surname and that of his oldest ancestress (Nardi) makes us think to a Central-North Italian Origin, probably Tuscan. Of course Filippelli has more variance than the others and I think is a witness of the origin of this haoplogroup, which may have expanded from Italy like the other G2a3b1a2 found in European aDNA and like that of Ötzi, the parallel G2a4.

It is interesting to say that Garcia has had a RecLOH in YCAII=13-13 and that Gonzales and Erpel have DYS441=14.3.

“Statistical phylogeographic analyses with mitochondrial COI and nuclear hsp70 haplotypes were used to answer the questions of the species' origin, sequence and timing of dispersal. The origin of the species was on Sardinia. Starting from there, a first expansion to Algeria and then to France took place. Abiotic and zoochorous dispersal could be excluded by considering the species' life style, leaving only anthropogenic translocation as parsimonious explanation. The geographic expansion could be dated to approximately 8,000 years before present with a 95% confidence interval of 10,000 to 3,000 years before present”.
