Hyatt Family Pedigrees

We invite you to submit your Hiatt, Hiett, Hiott, or Hyatt "Pedigree" for the Hyatt DNA and Genealogy Patriarch page. You don’t have to be a DNA test participant to post your family pedigree here.  We welcome all persons researching their respective Hiatt, Hiett, Hiatt or Hyatt family tree.

There are two ways to make your pedigree available to the project administrator for posting on our Patriarch Page:

1.  You can send the pedigree by email directly to the Group Administrator, Phil Hyatt, who is listed at the bottom of the page.  Be sure to include the name and email address you wish to be posted with your pedigree and your Kit Number, if you have been tested by Family Tree DNA or another testing service.

2.  You can log in at http://www.worldfamiles.net (You must register there before you log in.).  Once you are logged in you can return here to post your pedigree directly on this page.

Please read the following instructions, then scroll down to the last posting on this forum and click "reply" in order to post your pedigree:

Your personal pedigree should follow your Hiatt, Hiett, Hiott, or Hyatt paternal (male) line.  Please post only the following  information for each generation:

•   His birth and death dates, if known.

•   His birthplace.

•   His spouse’s name.

If you are missing any piece of this information, you may substitute another bit of identifying information.  Post no more than five pieces of information for each person.

 Formatting:

•   Posters from the United States should start with the original immigrant in your family, if you know who he is.  On the line above this person's name enter "ORIGINAL IMMIGRANT."  

•   If your most distant known ancestor is NOT the original immigrant, put "BRICK WALL" above the first line, meaning you are unable to track your Hiatt, Hiett, Hiott, or Hyatt ancestors beyond this person.  
 
•   Posters from countries other than the U. S. should simply start with the earliest known ancestor.

•   Use standard abbreviations:  m.=married, b.=born, d.=died, c.=circa, Co.=county, VA=Virginia, GA=Georgia, etc.

•   Try to keep to one line per generation.  

•   Include only documented generations that have the family name.

•   Place your name and email address at the end of the first line, replacing "@" with "AT."

•   If you have taken a DNA test, put your kit number and/or project code identity number to the right of the last person listed in your pedigree.

•   Don’t include anyone whose birth date is after 1910, for privacy reasons.

•   Post in black.  The Group Administrator will review and colorize your pedigree before he posts it on the Patriarch Page.

Ready to post?  Scroll down to the last posting on this forum and click  the "reply" button.  If you do not see a "reply" button, it means you have lost your log in and will need to log in again in order to post. Go back to the project home page, log in again, and return to this pedigree forum. Login should hold the second time.

Type or paste your pedigree into the box provided and click "Post."
